Battle of Newbury
'Newbury - War of the British Tree People'. A 42-minute documentary. 150 feet up in the branches of a pine tree, 'a fly on the wall' film about the Newbury bypass project. Filmed over one of the coldest English winters, demonstrator's fight with security guards whose job it is the evict them out of some of the oldest trees in England to make way for the road construction crews. The 110 million-pound road project cost the British taxpayers 11 million pounds to police. A unique view into the minds behind some of the demonstrators who are unlike the unemployed 'crusties' the media portray them out to be.
