Soldiers of Peace

Humanity will soon face the greatest challenges in its history. Climate change, the depletion of fossil fuels and an ever growing population will create colossal pressure on countries, governments and individuals.

It is how these demands are dealt with which will seal the fate of the human race. Through peace or war?

Conflict will become a reality for millions of people unless peaceful philosophies are embraced from the ground up. Soldiers of Peace showcases the alternatives to conflict, revealing countless inspiring examples to prove that peace can be achieved through great equity, emancipation, tolerance and understanding.

The film illustrates the connections between individual acts of enterprise and heroism, and the systemic changes we now need if we are to survive the 21st Century. We see the reconciliation between IRA bomber Pat Magee and the daughter of one of his victims; we meet Christian and Islamic religious fundamentalists in Nigeria who now preach peaceful co-existence; we are introduced to a Colombian musician, making guitars from decommissioned AK47 machine guns, the former militiamen who advocate peace through music and many others who are striving to make a difference in the world.

Filmed in 14 countries, Soldiers of Peace includes interviews with Sir Bob Geldof, Hans Blix, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Richard Branson, HH Prince Hassan of Jordan and many others with narration by Hollywood actor Michael Douglas.
